Good Riddance to 2020, Better Living in 2021 

No one would have thought ever that 2020 would be a roller coaster ride. But this year has proven to be one of the most important and defining years of our lives. COVID-19 has taken away the lives of nearly 1.7 million people worldwide with more than 75 million active cases.  

This has shaken the system and is surely going to have a long-lasting impact on our relationships, our assessment of risk, health issues, and our attitudes towards nature and climate. Though the effects of this year will live on, as we move toward the dawn of 2021, we must keep positive thoughts for the upcoming year. So, does that mean in 2021 we are going to face more difficulties? 

What has happened in 2020? 

Before the first case of COVID-19 was identified in Wuhan, life was extremely busy. We were freely roaming from one place to another without worrying about anything. Our daily schedules were fixed and we were following a standard routine by maintaining a balance between work life and personal life. All of a sudden, life came to a halt where we were bound to stay indoors, use all possible hygiene methods, and do contactless activities. All sorts of traveling, eating out, and visiting places were shut completely as the virus was spreading at a very fast pace. 

This led to locking ourselves in the home with the impose of lockdown in the city, state, and country. There were no communications with our next-door neighbor. Working from office converted to work from home, children started attending schools from home, home essentials were being delivered at doorstep and likewise many activities of our daily routine diverted their way. As a consequence, we all started feeling isolated, lonely and stressed. 

What shall we do to keep ourselves relaxed and calm in Pandemic and welcome 2021 in a healthy way? 

With the passing times, we have accepted the situation and adapted to it. However, in the near future, considering the current scenario, we all know that the circumstances may not improve as we hope them to improve. As we already know that a new variant of the coronavirus is in existence, it is going to be hard road ahead of us 

Still, there are reasons to be hopeful – we have adopted the right ways like wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, traveling only when it is required, etc. to keep the virus at bay. However, stress and anxiety are still trapping us. 

In the upcoming year, how about starting fresh with positive vibes and without any stress of what is going to happen? I know it is not possible to do so but we can at least give it a try. 

It is uncertain when life will become normal but even if it will become normal it will never be the same. The only way to keep ourselves healthy in the upcoming times is by having a positive attitude towards life and following all the safety guidelines. 

So far in this year, we have understood that our immune system has a major role to play in protecting us against the novel coronavirus. So here are a few tips to strengthen your immune system to ensure a better quality of life: 

  1. Exercise Regularly – You should not neglect exercise if you want to strengthen your immune system. Exercise gives you a chance to improve your body. It helps in removing the harmful bacteria from the lungs and airways that may cause flu, cold, or cough. It also causes a change in antibodies and white blood cells that further help in building immunity. 
  2. Eat a nutritious diet  A healthy diet keeps one’s immune system healthy, active, and ready to defend against infectious invaders. To keep your immune system strong, you should consume a well-balanced diet consisted of all essential elements like protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, and more. 
  3. Consume CBD – With the ongoing pandemic, we have a valid reason to get stressed and depressed. This can cause various side effects in the body like feeling tired all day, insomnia, and even a weaker immune system. To manage your immunity, you should keep yourself free from stress. Consuming CBD in a limited or prescribed amount can help you in improving your sleep quality and wash away the stress of the day.
