Oxidative Stress

Oxidative Stress is an indication that your body is suffering from the imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants. Chemical reactions in your body take place because of the presence of free radicals.

Free radicals are molecules with unpaired electrons, which also contain oxygen. Free radicals are behind all the oxidation processes in your body. The antioxidants stabilize these free radicals by paring their unpaired electron without becoming unstable, and when this neutralization process fails, it leads to Oxidative Stress.

A certain amount of Oxidative Stress happens naturally, which is responsible for aging. But a higher level of Oxidative Stress leads to internal destruction of fatty tissues, DNA, protein, etc. which further results in many diseases like diabetes, severe inflammations, high blood pressure, heart problems, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, etc.

Oxidative Stress can temporarily be triggered by some of your immune system responses resulting in mild inflammation. The condition will get better when your immune system fights off all infections and repairs injuries. At the same time, uncontrolled oxidative Stress will cause rapid aging and may develop different life-threatening conditions.

Oxidative Stress also leads to positive effects on the body, such as physical activity causing tissue growth and increasing antioxidant production.
